Teaching Jobs - Head of Primary

Job Description:

An International School Boys School in Qatar that follows the British Curriculum is looking for Head of Primary who will be responsible for liaising with teachers in the Primary department and curriculum development for the programs. Needs to have the ability to teach at different levels of Primary grades. Develop lesson plans and themes in line with British curriculum objectives. Facilitate learning by establishing a relationship with students and organizing learning resources and the classroom environment.

Meeting with teachers, counselors and administrators to resolve any possible behavioural or academic problem. Must also establish clear objectives for all lessons, and projects and attend staff meetings

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree in Education from a recognized University (From the UK preferred)
  • Master Degree in Education or Leadershippreferred
  • TEACHING LICENSE FROM ONE OF THE FOLLOWING COUNTRIES: UK, US, CA, AU, NZ, ZA and Scandinavian countries (due to Visa restrictions)
  • Must have excellent English skills
  • Must have excellent classroom management skills and able to deal effectively with student behaviour issues


Required Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years teaching experience at a Primary grade levels (In the UK preferred)
  • Minimum 2 years experience as Head of Primary or in a similar role
  • Culturally sensitive, dependable, flexible and able to work in a continuously changing environment

Monthly Salary Range:

TAX FREE Monthly salary QAR 20,000 to 25,000 depending on qualifications and experience


Furnished 1 to 2 bedroom apartment depending on family size

Health Insurance Coverage:

Medical insurance for employee and one dependent (spouse or child)

Annual Air Tickets:

Return air fare for employee and one nominated dependent (can either be spouse or child)

Plus Excess Luggage allowance up to $275 upon proof of receipt


In addition to official holidays, paid leave is allocated as per academic calendar and as per labour law


Dependant School Fees:

100% discount on 1 child tuition fee when attending same school as employee

Visa & Medical Check Fees:

Resident Visa fees covered by the school for employee only

End Of Service Benefit:

One month Basic Salary for each year worked as per country Labor Law

Contract Period:

Open contract - minimum 1 year renewable



Paperwork Requirements:

Notarized and Attested academic degrees, teaching certificates, transcripts, marriage and dependent birth certificates. You will be advised of school requirements.
