Job Description:

Learning Support Teachers focus on the provision of supplementary teaching to students who require additional help for Primary or Secondary grade levels. They work with students in groups or one-to-one, either in the classroom or in a learning support room. Their work involves planning and implementing effective teaching strategies, liaising with parents, staff and other relevant professionals. They are closely linked with and may share duties with special educational needs teachers.

The work can be intensive as a lot of one-to-one tuition is required. Self-motivation, organization, creativity and enthusiasm are vital qualities in the role. The standard route into this area is to train as a mainstream teacher and then gain experience in mainstream teaching before obtaining a qualification in Learning Support.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor Degree in Education for Primary or in English for Secondary grades from a recognized University (From the UK preferred)

• TEACHING LICENSE FROM ONE OF THE FOLLOWING COUNTRIES: UK, US, CA, AU, NZ, and Scandinavian countries (Due to Visa restrictions)

  • Learning Support Certification a definite asset

• Must have excellent English communications skils and could pass an IELTS exam at level 7

• Must have excellent classroom management skills and able to deal effectively with student behaviour issues

Required Experience:

• Minimum 2 years teaching experience in a Learning Support role at Primary or Secondary grade levels

• Culturally sensitive, dependable, flexible and able to work in a continuously changing environment

 

Monthly Salary Range:

Competitive TAX FREE monthly salary from KD 700 to 1175 depending on experience and qualifications

Housing:

Furnished 1 - 2 bedroom flat depending on family size or KD 125 monthly as cash allowance. Utilities paid for by school in provided accommodation

Health Insurance Coverage:

Government Health Insurance provided for employee ONLY

Annual Air Tickets:

Annual Return Air Fare for employee ONLY. Baggage allowance of (KD) 50 granted upon first time of arrival and permanent departure from Kuwait at the end of service

Leave:

In addition to official holidays, paid leave is allocated as per school calendar/breaks. Minimum 30 work days per year

Dependant School Fees:

50% discount for Dependent’s School fees up to two children provided they are attending same school as employee

Visa & Medical Check Fees:

Visa Fees will be paid for employee ONLY if done in Kuwait. Employee is responsible for fees for dependents

End Of Service Benefit:

For each full year of service, school will pay 1 month Basic Salary for each year worked according to Labour Law of the country

1 year contract - renewable yearly

Paperwork Requirements:

Notarized and Attested academic degrees, teaching certificates, transcripts, marriage and dependent birth certificates. You will be advised of school requirements
