Job Description:

The Dept Chair is responsible for the management and delivery of assigned National Qualification across all campus locations. Accountable for the management of assigned staff to ensure that all curriculum, teaching materials, resources, formative assessments, and summative assessments are developed. Responsible for the management of learner attendance and progression. The Department Chair will also be required to provide management, administration, and other support to ensure the effective functioning of the institute campus.

  • Responsible for compliance with Policies and Procedures as per the General Framework
  • Ensure that staff, students, visitors, and contractors always comply with all Policies as per General Framework and during all events
  • Accountable for the pedagogical delivery of an assigned National Qualification(s) across all institute campus locations
  • Responsible for managing the development of curriculum, teaching materials and resources to maintain a high quality and varied learning experience.
  • Responsible for the line management of assigned teachers for the delivery of National Qualification(s)
  • Responsible for the development of teacher and student timetables that support the concept of “Learning by Doing” to develop practical learner skills
  • Responsible for the management and implementation of policies and educational developments in the vocational sector both locally and internationally
  • Responsible for undertaking formal lesson observations each semester for assigned teachers and to provide constructive feedback for improvement
  • Promote the use of student-centered teaching methodologies
  • Monitor consistency and quality in the Summative Assessment of student outcomes
  • Develop effective relationships with stakeholders from relevant industry areas
  • Supporting teachers in relation to student management issues
  • Liaise with Student Administration in relation to progression, timetabling and graduation requirements
  • Undertake timetabled teaching of classes as required
  • Provide advice and assistance to students, employers and members of the community and generally promote technical and further education
  • Be involved in and assist as required within the corporate life and meeting quality educational standards
  • Work to support organization’s KPI’s which include learners’ recruitment, retention, and achievement

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in Engineering or IT is essential
  • Master degree in Engineering or IT preferred
  • Professional Leadership or Management Qualification
  • Vocational Teaching Certification an asset
  • Assessor Qualification an asset
  • Internal Quality Assurance Certification an asset
  • IC3 Certification an asset

Required Experience:

  • 5 years experience in vocational education
  • 3 years experience in a Leadership and Management role in Education
  • 3 years industry related experience in vocational area
  • Delivery of accredited vocational qualifications
  • Pedagogy that supports the practical skills development of learners
  • Pedagogy that supports asynchronous and synchronous on-line learning
  • Formative and Summative assessment techniques
  • Manpower planning
  • Monitoring staff performance
  • Problem Solving

Monthly Salary Range:

TAX FREE Monthly Salary is AED 17,802

Housing:

First 29 days employee stays in a hotel suite. Housing Allowance provided as follows for employee to find accommodation (Help will be given):

8,320 to 13,000 AED monthly depending on marital status, location and position

AED 20,000 Cash Relocation Allowance given at beginning of contract. Half upon arrival and half after 3 month probation period

Health Insurance Coverage:

Provided for employee, spouse and up to 3 dependent children

Annual Air Tickets:

Cash Allowance given based on home country location for employee, spouse and up to 3 dependent children

Relocation air tickets also provided at beginning and end of contract

Leave:

In addition to official holidays, paid leave is allocated as per academic calendar and as per the country Labour law. Minimum 30 work days per year

Dependant School Fees:

School Tuition of 80,000 AED per family, maximum 40K per child (must be attending schools in same country as employee)

This allowance to be used for tuition fees, exam fees, text books, uniform, school transport – (all must be official invoices from the school)

Visa & Medical Check Fees:

VISA fees and Medical check done in the country for Residency Visa are paid by the school for Employee only

End Of Service Benefit:

Receive 21 days Basic Salary for each full year of service. Plus economy air ticket back to place of permanent residence according to Labour Law of the country

Contract Period:

Open Contract - renewable yearly

Paperwork Requirements:

Notarized and Attested academic degrees, teaching certificates, transcripts, marriage, dependent birth certificates. You will be advised of school requirements
