Teaching Jobs - Curriculum Specialist - Computer Science for Secondary Schools

Job Description:

Acts as a Subject Specialist, provides leadership in Curriculum Development, Curriculum Improvement and Implementation and provides support to the School System in the delivery of the Curricula.

  • Develops quality curriculum and resources for vocational education and training in the schools
  • Implements program quality assurance processes
  • Committed to innovation in Teaching and Learning initiatives, with a positive “can do” attitude and willingness to promote life-long learning
  • Applies knowledge of learning paradigm and project-based learning
  • Ensures the use of technologies that support educational development and current with technology development
  • Is responsible for planning, developing and improving the learning resources and assessment tools of the staff and trainees
  • Works with other team members and the Curriculum/Academic/Vocational Coordinators to implement and continually improve curriculum, teaching, learning and assessment strategies in line with policies and procedures
  • Liaises with the Curriculum Team Members and the Curriculum/Academic/Vocational Coordinators to ensure information exchange, coordination of efforts and specific support for learning initiatives within the system
  • Monitors and Reports on the implementation Quality Assurance and Performance Standards through the use of appropriate learning projects, instructional activities and assessment schedules, in line with agreed quality guidelines
  • Works with the National Qualification Authority to develop the National Qualification Framework and convert the current curriculum to meet NQF standards

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree in Computer Science from the UK, US, CA, AU, NZ, ZA and Scandinavian countries 
  • Master Degree in Computer Science preferred
  • Teaching Qualification preferred
  • Computer Literate (IC3 or equivalent)
  • Basics of computer hardware and software maintenance (CompTIA) Strata Certificate - A+ Preferred
  • MOS (Microsoft Office Specialist) 
  • Cyber C3 Certificate or IC Citizen Certificate
  • Must have excellent English communication skills and could pass an IELTS exam at level 7
  • Must have excellent classroom management skills and able to deal effectively with student behaviour issues

Required Experience:

  • 6 years in Teaching experience
  • 2 years in Curriculum and Assessment Development and Planning
  • Experience in Competency-based and Interactive Learning Strategies
  • Experience with teacher Support
  • Relevant Industrial Experience – an advantage

Monthly Salary Range:

TAX FREE Monthly Salary is AED 17,800 plus benefits

Housing:

Housing Allowance for Singles is AED 10,400

Housing Allowance for Married is AED 13,000

Relocation Allowance:  AED 20,000 - (one time payment and will be paid in two instalments, upon arrival and after probation period)

Health Insurance Coverage:

Provided for employee only. Employee responsible for dependent coverage

Annual Air Tickets:

Annual Return Air Fare for employee, spouse and up to 3 dependents

Relocation air ticket also provided at beginning and end of contract

Leave:

In addition to official holidays, paid leave is allocated as per academic calendar and as per the country Labour law. Minimum 30 work days per year

Dependant School Fees:

AED 80,000/- per year but maximum 40,000/- per child. Must be attending school in the UAE

Visa & Medical Check Fees:

VISA fees and Medical check for Residency Visa done in the country are paid for by the school for Employee only. Employee is responsible for fees for dependents

End Of Service Benefit:

Receive 21 days basic salary for each full year of service. Plus economy relocation air ticket to place of permanent residence according to Labour Law of the country

Open Contract - renewable yearly

Paperwork Requirements:

Notarized and Attested academic degrees, teaching certificates, transcripts, marriage and dependent birth certificates.  You will be advised of school requirements
