Job Description:

Develop lesson plans and themes in line with curriculum objectives specific for teaching CREATIVE DESIGN at Secondary grade Levels 9 to 12 at High School level. Facilitate learning by establishing a relationship with students and organizing learning resources and the classroom environment. Meeting with parents or guardians, teachers, counsellors and administrators to resolve any possible behavioural or academic problems. Must also establish clear objectives for all lessons, and projects. Distribute, collect and grade homework assignments, tests and projects and attend staff meetings.

  • Inspire students and assist them to develop their creativity and self-expression through various Creative Design forms and media
  • Enjoy creative work and display artistic talent
  • Instructs students in Creative Design – painting, sketching, drawing, printmaking, ceramic, sculpturing and areas of Creative Design,such as illustration, art history, or commercial art, elements of design, graphics, product design and environmental studies
  • Introduce students to a range of mixed media, techniques and design processes in both 2D and 3D form
  • Teach students the visual language of Creative Design through the promotion of skills, knowledge and understanding
  • Strategies are employed which encourage students to recognize and appreciate qualities of line, tone, texture, pattern, color, shape, form and space etc.
  • Creative Design classes provide the opportunity to work with a variety of materials using different tools and techniques. These may include paint, collage, printmaking, ICT, clay or sculpture
  • Demonstrate creativity and attention to detail, both characteristics of a graphic artist.A familiarity of standard industry hard- and software is required, in addition to keeping up with upgrades and advancements. Because each student comes to class with his or her own ideas and suggestions, teachers must allow a certain amount of creativity without imposing their ideas on to students
  • Deliver a consistent Creative/Graphic Design curriculum and implement ateam approach to working with students using real world experiences and technology used as educational learning tool. Use a hands-on approach emphasizing appropriate concepts relevant to professional skills and career path progress
  • Set up and maintain facilities such as kilns for ceramic work, studios and storage areas
  • Order and maintain Creative Design resources and materials within the budget allowance
  • Demonstrate the use of Creative Design materials and tools such as oils, watercolors, palettes and palette knives, brushes, pens, pencils, dyes, clay, fabric, canvas and paper
  • Plan and arrange for exhibitions of student work in and out ofschool
  • Experience with Advanced Placement Courses and Exams
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the CurriculumDeveloper
  • Seek continuous professional development opportunities in Creative Design teaching

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree in CREATIVE DESIGN, DESIGN TECHNOLOGY or MATERIAL ENGINEERING from a recognized University (Not online) in the UK, US, CA, AU, NZ, ZA and Scandinavian countries preferred (due to Visa restrictions)
  • Master Degree in above Subject areas an asset
  • Teaching Certificate for this subject
  • Must have excellent classroom management skills and able to deal effectively with student behaviour issues
  • Non Native English speaker must achieve Academic IELTS 7 prior to joining

Required Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years teaching experience at Secondary grade levels 9 to 12
  • Some industry experience in the field is an asset
  • Awareness of current research and scientific knowledge in the SUBJECT area
  • Experience with Advanced Placement courses and exams
  • Culturally sensitive, dependable, flexible and able to work in a continuously changing environment

Monthly Salary Range:

Competitive TAX FREE Salary range from 11,500 AED to 13,500 AED depending on qualifications & experience (Masters required for higher salary), years of experience. Allowance of extra 1500 AED for remote location

  • Housing Allowance for Singles is 9,280 AED
  • Housing Allowance for Married is 11,600 AED

Other Emirates: (Housing Costs are lower)

  • Housing Allowance for Singles is 7,424 AED
  • Housing Allowance for Married is 9,280 AED

New staff will stay in an apartment / hotel for the first 29 nights in the UAE. This gives time to arrange Residency Visa, Emirates ID and find suitable accommodation that meets their needs. (During this time, as housing is provided, the housing allowance is not payable). It becomes payable after the 29th night.

Housing advance to new staff is not provided. However, arrangements have been made with banks to provide quick and flexible financial support to staff, as they may need it, along with reputable housing agents who can access landlords who would accept 3-4 payments over the year, instead of one lump sum

Health Insurance Coverage:

Provided for employee, spouse and up to 3 dependents

Annual Air Tickets:

Air Fare Cash Allowance given based on home country location for employee, spouse and 3 dependents. Relocation air tickets also provided at beginning and end of contract for employee, spouse and 3 dependents

Leave:

In addition to official holidays, paid leave is allocated as per academic calendar and as per the country Labor law. Minimum 30 work days per year

Dependant School Fees:

School Tuition offered at 80,000 AED per family, maximum 40K AED per child) This allowance to be used for tuition fees, exam fees, text books, uniform, school transport – (all must be official invoices from UAE school)

Visa & Medical Check Fees:

Residence VISA fees and Medical check done in the country are paid for by the school for Employee only

End Of Service Benefit:

Receive 21 days Basic Salary for each full year of service completed. Plus economy air ticket to place of permanent residence according to Labor Law of the country.

Open Contract - renewable yearly

Notarized and Attested academic degrees, teaching certificates, transcripts, marriage and dependent birth certificates. You will be advised of school requirements.
