Job Description:

SEN Teacher required for teaching Special Education (SEN) in a GIFTED/TALENTED Program at all grade levels of the school. To develop lesson plans in line with curriculum objectives specific  This position needs a person who can teach Core Subjects, English, Math, Science and Social Studies in an American curriculum program. Instruct through lectures, discussions, and demonstrations. Use computers, audiovisual aids, and other equipment and materials to supplement presentations. Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet the varying needs and interests of students.

Facilitate learning by establishing a relationship with students and organizing learning resources and the classroom environment. Meeting with parents or guardians, teachers, counselors and administrators to resolve any possible behavioural or academic problems.

The Special Education teacher for the Gifted and Talented Program will develop and implement enrichment programs and services for students with special gifts and talents. Moreover, this teacher will undertake the following tasks: 

- Assist in the identification of students with gifts and talents

 - Prepare an ALP (Advanced Learning Plan) for the gifted and talented students as needed, in cooperation with other school personnel

- Implement teaching strategies to promote the development of the creativity of all students

- Organize programs and special activities for gifted and talented students in accordance with the approved programs of the Special Education Needs Head of Department

- Nominate gifted and talented students to participate in indoor and outdoor programs and activities. - Application of best practices in the area of talent and excellence

- Implement programs to help gifted and talented students develop the abilities for scientific research and its methods

- Provide opportunities and educational experiences for students to develop motivation for independent learning

- Cooperate with subject teachers in order to design enrichment programs for the gifted and talented students

- Develop and implement awareness programs for the school, parents and community of the methods and ways of identifying and developing the skills of gifted and talented students

- Collaborate with community organizations and individuals to identify and provide services to the talented students

 - Collaborate with parents of students with special needs to strengthen the home and school partnership. - Engage in ongoing professional development

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor degree in Education with specialization in Special Education and/or Certification for Gifted/Talented students from a recognized University

• Optional Master Degree is Special Education

Teaching license/qualification for Secondary teaching from the UK, Ireland, Scotland, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, US, South Africa or Scandinavian countries preferred (due to Visa restrictions)

• Must be a native English speaker or near

Required Experience:

• Minimum 2 years full time teaching experience in a Gifted/Talented program

• Is culturally sensitive, dependable, flexible and able to work in a continuously changing environment

Monthly Salary Range:

Monthly TAX FREE salary 11,000 - 12,500 AED depending on qualifications and experience

One bedroom apartment with Utilities paid by school

80% medical insurance for employee ONLY

Return Annual Air Fare provided for employee ONLY

Leave:

Approximately 2 months summer holidays, plus national holidays and term breaks

Dependant School Fees:

25% discount on tuition fees in the first year & 50% from the 2nd year onwards for up to 2 children

Visa & Medical Check Fees:

Residence Visa Sponsorship and fees covered for employee ONLY

Employee must pay for dependent Visa fees

End Of Service Benefit:

One month of Basic Salary paid for each completed year service accordning to UAE Labor Law

Paperwork Requirements:

Notarized and Attested academic degrees, teaching certificates, transcripts, marriage and dependent birth certificates. You will be advised of school requirements
