Job Description:

Our College client  is looking for experienced Sr Instructors to teach Engineering Subjects in the Mechanical and Electrical programs. 

Senior Instructors are subject matter experts whose primary role is to teach courses in which they are experts, to students in a practical learner centred environment. The aim of the curriculum is to help students develop the basic mathematics, science, mechatronics engineering technology and practical skills necessary to function effectively in an international work environment. To implement and realize curriculum in a student-centred environment.  Every faculty member is encouraged to provide ideas and suggestions leading to continuous improvement of local teaching and learning practices and encourage alignment of Teaching, Learning, and Assessment practices with instructional and delivery methods, in line with related performance improvement standards and program learning outcomes. Responsibilities are below:

  • The preparation and delivery of lectures and laboratories provided that their skills and experience demonstrate this capacity
  • Responsible for the conduct of tutorials, practical classes, demonstrations, workshops, and/or student field excursions
  • Acting as a student advocate where appropriate
  • Involvement in professional activity
  • Consultation with students
  • Marking and assessment primarily connected with courses in which the faculty member teaches
  • Production of teaching materials for students for whom the faculty member has responsibility
  • Development of course material with appropriate guidance from the program coordinator
  • Limited administrative functions primarily connected with courses in which the faculty member teaches
  • Acting as instructor of record or section coordinators provided that their skills and experience demonstrate this capacity
  • Recommending relevant changes to the curriculum committee as appropriate
  • Attendance at divisional/unit meetings, faculty meetings, and membership in AD Poly committees
  • Ensuring own professional development by seeking learning opportunities as appropriate
  • Performs other duties assigned by the Head of the department

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical or Mechanical from a recognized University in the UK, US, CA, AU, NZ, ZA and Scandinavian countries preferred 
  • Masters Degree in Mechatronics Engineering or relevant specializations
  • PhD in Engineering (Electrical or Mechnical) preferred
  • Competence and industrial certificates are a plus
  • Excellent oral and written English essential
  • For non-native speakers IELTS level 7 must have been passed
  • Must have excellent classroom management skills and able to deal effectively with student behaviour issues

Required Experience:

  • Must have minimum 3 years teaching experience in a similar program at a reputable Institution (Post-PhD teaching for higher salary)
  • Minimum 2 years Industrial experience is also required

The candidate should have a solid background and experience in mechatronics technology applications such as but not limited to:

  • Robotics
  • PLC
  • CAD/CAM/CNC
  • Process Control
  • Pneumatics and Hydraulics
  • SCADA
  • DCS
  • LabView
  • C++ Programming

Monthly Salary Range:

TAX FREE Monthly Salary from 13,500 AED to 20,000AED depending on qualifications (PHD required for higher salary), years of experience & Publications

Housing:

First 29 days employee stays in a hotel suite. Housing Allowance provided as follows for employee to find accommodation (Help will be given):

7,424 to 13,000 AED monthly depending on marital status, location and position

AED 20,000 Cash Relocation Allowance given at beginning of contract. Half upon arrival and half after 3 month probation period

Health Insurance Coverage:

Insurance cover is for UAE only with emergency worldwide. 

Annual Air Tickets:

Cash Allowance given based on home country location for employee, spouse and up to 3 dependent children Relocation air tickets also provided at beginning and end of contract

 

Leave:

Minimum Thirty (30) working days annual leave in summer and all National Holidays and Term breaks

Dependant School Fees:

Tuition fees for up to 3 dependents as follows: 80,000 AED per family is payable (max of 40,000 AED per child) to cover fees, books, exams, registration, uniform, transport

Eligible dependents must study in the UAE and are 5 years old or will attend KG1 at the beginning of the academic year. Children must be by birth or attested legal adoption and below 18 years

 

Visa & Medical Check Fees:

Visa and Medical Check fees paid for employee only

Employee is responsible for dependent fees

End Of Service Benefit:

Gratuity of 21 days of Basic Salary for each full year worked as per Labor Law of country.  Relocation tickets back to home country for employee, spouse and up to 3 dependents

Open Contract - renewable yearly

Paperwork Requirements:

Documents to be Notarized and Attested in home country and stamped by Embassy. Instructions will be given
