Teaching Jobs - English-ESL Assistant Professor for College

Job Description:

To teach English (ESL) in the Foundation Program at a College. This is an ESL program. The teaching, learning and assessment practices, along with the instructional and delivery methods are to enhance performance standards.

•To teach Language courses for ESL students such Grammar, Composition etc.

Prepare and deliver lectures to undergraduate or graduate students on topics as per the related discipline

• Prepare course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments, and hand-outs

• Evaluate and grade student class work, laboratory work, assignments, and papers

• Maintain student attendance records, grades, and other required records

• Compile, administer, and grade examinations

• Keep abreast of developments in the field by reading current literature, and participating in professional conferences

• Initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom discussions

• Assist students who need extra help with their coursework outside of class

 

Required Qualifications:

PhD in English, Literature, Linguistics, TESOL qualification preferred

• Master Degree in English is the minimum degree requirement

BA in English related subject

• Must have excellent classroom management skills and able to deal effectively with student behaviour issues

Required Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years post PhD teaching English (ESL Related courses) at College or University level for Assistant Professor positions and higher salary
  • Culturally sensitive, dependable, flexible and able to work in a continuously changing environment
  • Native English speaker required

Monthly Salary Range:

TAX FREE Monthly Salary range from 13,500 AED to 15,500 AED depending on qualifications, teaching experience, publications

Housing:

Housing Allowance is AED 9,000 to 13,000 depending on family status and position designation

On arrival you will be put up in a hotel suite for 29 nights in order to find suitable accommodation

Candidate will be supported in finding housing of their choice

AED 20,000 Relocation Allowance given upon arrival in the UAE.  Half on arrival and the other half after 3 month probation

Health Insurance Coverage:

Provided for employee, spouse and up to 3 dependents. Cover is for UAE only with emergency worldwide 

Annual Air Tickets:

An annual Cash Allowance based on employee, spouse and up to 3 dependent children, depending on location of Home country

Leave:

In addition to official holidays, paid leave is allocated as per academic calendar and as per the Labour law. Minimum 30 work days per year plus term break

Dependant School Fees:

80,000 AED per family is payable (max of 40,000 AED per child) to cover fees, books, exams, registration, uniform, transport.

Eligible dependents must study in the UAE, are 5 years old or will attend KG1 at the beginning of the academic year. Children must be by birth or attested legal adoption and below 18 years old

Visa & Medical Check Fees:

Fees for Employment and Residency Visa is provided for employee only.  Employee must sponsor dependents

End Of Service Benefit:

Receive 21 days Basic Salary for each full year of service. Plus economy air ticket for employee and dependents to place of permanent residence according to Labour Law of the country

Open Contract - renewable yearly

Paperwork Requirements:

Notarized and Attested academic degrees, teaching certificates, transcripts, marriage and dependent birth certificates. You will be advised of school requirements
